POSITIVELY HIV STREET

With the thoughts of a self hating racist cracker and the ability to write poetry like William Blake and an anything goes ideological framework to guide him our boy superstar Bob was on a collision course with disaster. I can tell you one thing, Pete Seeger is not HIV Positive. The first poems about AIDS was I Ain't Never Gonna Be The Same Again 1985 but I didn't catch on until Dylan released Time Out of Mind in 1997. During the time Dylan recorded Time Out of Mind, his mind was almost out of time. New York Magazine reported that while Dylan was recording the CD taped in January 1997 and released on September 30, 1997, he was almost barred from a posh hotel due his disheveled appearance. The photograph of Dylan seated at a table that is included with Time Out Of Mind contains a small bottle of what I believe to be medication. Time Out of Mind contained numerous references to sickness and death. Even Ron Rosenbaum commented that this seemed strange for someone of Dylan's age. I just thought the dude was off the wall, as usual I didn't know what was happening having not caught on to The Disease of Conceit being about AIDS. Dylan was hospitalized in London, England on May 26, 1997 (my 52nd Birthday) with disseminated histoplasmosis, a disease that often afflicts AIDS patients with CD4 cell counts below 100/mm3 (“Opportunistic Infections and Related Disorders” From AmFAR's AIDS/HIV Treatment Directory, Vol. 7, No. 4 January 1995). This opportunistic infection comes from contact with dry bird droppings - just visiting Trafalger Square could have done it! His agent said Dylan contracted it after he had played shows in Muncie, Indiana on April 29, in Evansville, Indiana on May 1st, and in Tennessee on May 2nd. But assuming you were not actually working on a chicken farm plucking or fucking chickens most people with histoplasmosis also have HIV. Another scenario is that the fungus was dormant just popped up when it did.

AJ WEBERMAN FINALLY CATCHES ON

I was googling Dylan and histoplasmosis to find out about his illness when I came across a gay website that asked, "Is Dylan Gay?" The article reported that most cases of histoplasmosis are linked to HIV. I knew Dylan was straight but I also knew Dylan was a needle freak and the dirty needles spread HIV. I figured Dylan got so wasted on smack he didn't know what he was doing. I thought back to all the references to death and illness on Time Out Of Mind. The it came to me as a sudden insight while walking from my penthouse on Central Park South to the World Trade Center passing some temple of sleaze: Dylan contracted HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Syndrome) virus and was an AIDS RIDDEN EX-JUNKIE. Tears came to my eyes and I felt bad for him then but now that I realize the he a Jew who thinks like a Nazi I realize my sympathy had been misplaced. The fact he is HIV Positive is a BIG FUCKING SECRET, because Dylan feels it will ruin his career but he hints at it in his poetry.

More evidence of Dylan's deterioration can be found If you examine Dylan's handwritting in some of the books he has published there has been a marked deterioration to the point where it has become illegible. But my opinion stems primarily from translations of Dylan's poetry that indicate to me that Dylan contracted HIV in the late 1980’s.

CHRONICLES 2004 AND THE DISEASE OF CONCEIT 1989

Dylan, "Conceit is not necessarily a disease. It’s more of a weakness. A conceited person could be set up (be put in a compromising or dangerous position usually by trickery or deceit: Also set up as “made erect”) easily and brought down (caused to fall into sin) accordingly. Let’s face it, a conceited person has a fake sense of self-worth, an inflated opinion of himself. A person like this can be controlled and manipulated" to apply therapeutic treatment with the hands to a part of the body such as the penis and testicles "completely if you know what buttons to push" do the right things to elicit a sexual response. So in a sense" if you read between the lines "that’s what the lyrics are talking about. ...The Disease of Conceit had additional verses including, “There’s a whole lot of people dreaming tonight about the disease of conceit (currently having pipe dreams that it will disappear) / whole lot of people screaming tonight (speaking or writing with intense or hysterical emotion) / about the disease of conceit / I’ll hump ya (HIV/AIDS will cause a difficult, trying, or critical phase or obstacle in your life: Also vulgar, to copulate with) / and I’ll dump ya (unceremoniously dispose of you, make you worth much less than you really are) / and I’ll blow your house down (destroy any chance you have of appearing before an audience, a packed house) / I’ll slice (interrupt, as in cut. Also slice-of-life the accurate transcription into poetry of a segment of actual life experience) / into your cake (the very thing that you did with ease, that was a piece of cake, staying healthy) / before I leave town (and finished going to town on you - doing something very thoroughly) / Pick a number (sarcastic: choose how many days you have left to live. Also pick the disease that you want to do a number on you. Gangster slang - how many days you will spend in the hospital after getting a beating) / take a seat (sarcastic: have a new position of eminence in the world: Also sit down before you faint) / with the disease of conceit.” Robert Allen Zimmerman also said this in regard to the poem Disease of Conceit - "The song (a habitual or characteristic manner) rose up (extended above other objects) until I could read (predict, foretell, learn from) the look in its eyes (what it held for me in the future). In the quiet (privacy) of the evening (of the period of my life that was coming to an end) I didn’t have to hunt far for it (sarcastic: seek it outside of myself since it was within me, it ran in my blood).” (Chronicles 2004)

REFERENCES TO HIS INCURABLE DISEASE IN CHRONICLES

Dylan also wrote, “It was 1987 and my hand" my entire set of circumstances in life "which had been ungodly" wicked because it is believed to be a sin: In Trust Yourself, written during Dylan’s Christian period, he wrote, 'Don’t put your hope in ungodly man' "injured in a freak" as a result of being highly enthusiastic about something as in sex freak "accident" a nonessential property or quality of an entity or circumstance that was unexpected "was in the state of regeneration" physical improvement. "It had been" my circumstances in life had been "ripped" violently attacked - in Disease of Conceit, a poem about HIV/AIDS Dylan wrote that the disease, 'Rips into your senses through your body and your mind' "and mangled" made incoherent especially through ineptitude "to the bone" to the core, destroying Dylan’s bones of contention that one could survive what I believe to be sexual addiction - also blood is produced in bone marrow "and was still in the acute stage" acute retroviral syndrome - Fifty to ninety percent of patients acutely infected with HIV experience at least some symptoms of the acute retroviral syndrome. The most common findings of the syndrome are fever (80 to 90 percent), fatigue (70 to 90 percent), rash (40 to 80 percent), headache (32 to 70 percent) and lymphadenopathy (40 to 70 percent). Additional findings include pharyngitis, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms. Symptoms usually develop within days to weeks after HIV exposure and last from a few days to several months, but usually less than 14 days) it didn’t even feel like it was mine. Dylan summed up his life in a not dissimilar fashion in Chronicles 2004, if you look at his thoughts about history as analogous to his life, “It was always the same pattern. Some early archaic period where society grows and develops and thrives" archaic - surviving from an early period - when Dylan began he sang the folksongs of the Depression Era "then some classical period where society reaches its maturation point" 1965 to 1966 a period during which Dylan composed classics like It’s Alright Ma I’m Only Bleeding, Gates of Eden, Desolation Row and other works of genius that he often played at his later concerts "and then a slacking" slack - the condition of being loose "off period where decadence makes things fall apart.”

On Thursday July 23, 2009 Patrolwoman Kristie Buble responded to a 5 p.m. call at Franklin Avenue and Third Avenue in Longbranch, New Jersey where she found a shabbily dressed man looking into a house in the midst of a pouring rain. “We got a call for a suspicious person. I said what are you doing in the neighborhood, he said he was looking at a house for sale. I asked him who he was and he said ‘I'm Bob Dylan.’ He was wearing black sweatpants tucked into black rain boots, and two raincoats with the hood pulled down over his head.” Dylan had wandered three miles away from The Ocean Beach Resort and Spa into the yard of a home that had a “For Sale” sign on it. The home's occupants became spooked by his appearance and called police with a report of an “eccentric-looking old man” in their yard. One of the occupants followed Dylan as he continued on down the street. “We see a lot of people on our beat, and I wasn't sure if he came from one of our hospitals or something?” Patrolwoman Buble called for backup and asked for identification, but Dylan had none. “He was acting very suspicious,” Buble said “Not delusional, just suspicious. You know, it was pouring rain and everything. He asked me if I could drive him back to the neighborhood after I verified who he was, which made me even more suspicious.” Psychosis can be induced by Decreased CD4+ T Cell and High Viral Load in an HIV Infection. Anti-retroviral drugs can induce temporary psychosis. Could Dylan have thought he was in Crown Heights on Franklin Avenue and was looking for a shul to daven mincha in?

DYLAN AND GAYS

Dylan got HIV through numerous heterosexual, bareback contacts, not through IV drug use or homosexuality. When Bob Dylan came to Greenwich Village in the early 1960’s it was still a sanctuary for gays some of whom cruised the streets of Greenwich Village looking for underage boys to bring back to their village pads and seduce or molest, after offering them a place to crash, booze etc.

Although AIDS is regarded as a disease of the young, in the United States it is rapidly becoming one of the old. The number of Americans with HIV who were 50+ quintupled in the 1990’s and over 100,000 people in this age group have this illness.
